This isn't a hyper-formal event; we don't expect you to buy new suits and formal gowns and tiaras. But we're planning on keeping these pictures for a long time and we'd like to remember everyone looking their best, so outfit yourself in your nicer attire. Extra-fancy clothes are welcome but not expected.
Remember that most of the ceremony and activity will be outdoors in the fall, so dress accordingly. If you plan on wearing heels, you might should bring along a backup pair of flipflops - there may be a little bit of walking from parking to the site.
If you have a question about whether or not something is appropriate, please e-mail RMJ.
Spouses, partners, and children are welcome to attend. If you already have a wife/husband/boyfriend/girlfriend, please bring them. We love you and want to meet the people you love, particularly if we haven't already met them!
However! Since the wedding is at a private home, we're trying to keep an intimate atmosphere and limit the size of the event. So we ask that you please not bring non-significant-others as dates or plus ones. If you're not in a committed relationship with a person, don't bring them - we won't be prepared for them. And please, give us the names of the people you're bringing so we can prepare accordingly.
Questions about whether or not you can bring someone? Please e-mail RMJ.
You are welcome to bequeath us with whatever you want, or nothing at all! It's most important to us that you're there on our big day. But while we do not expect gifts, some people like to give them, so we're providing some suggestions about what we would most relish receiving.
For those guests who would like to favor us with something, we would very much appreciate monetary gifts. The birdhouse above will be set up to take tokens toward our future home, and a percentage will go to our favorite charities. If you'd like to give to our favorite charities in our honor directly, please e-mail Rachel for specifics.
In the case that you prefer to give online, or if you just like registries, we've set up a fund so you can provide for our honeymoon. We're really getting into the planning of our special vacation to Georgia to see the sites, eat good food, and enjoy each other during this special time in our life. If you'd like to provide for particular experiences and memories in this way, here's the link:

If you're cash strapped, offering your time and assistance on day of the wedding would be a wonderful way to contribute.
We're not registered at any store because we are moving our already-established household to Kansas next year and do not need more stuff. But if you have something particular in mind for us already, or something you'd like to make for us, by all means, wrap it up and bring it! (Except for stemware, which Rachel is sure to break before our first anniversary!)
While we've got a pro taking pictures of the event, we want to get plenty of photos from the perspective of our friends and loved ones - that means you! Please bring your camera and make sure to save plenty of room for capturing the reception in particular.
However, if you see the photographer taking pictures of us, please don't interfere. You're welcome to take pictures of the ceremony, but please stay in your seat and don't use flash.
More to come on our substitute for a guest book soon.
